Authors Battle it out for Coveted Academic Literary Awards.

Saltire Society Scottish Research Book and History Book of the Year Shortlists Announced

The Saltire Society is delighted to announce the shortlists for its two prestigious academic awards.

Awarded annually the Saltire Research and Saltire History Book of the Year Awards see books of Scottish cultural significance celebrated for their excellence. Past winners have included:

Jim Tough, Executive Director of the Saltire Society said of the Awards: The Saltire Literary Awards gave a great tradition of celebrating academic excellence and this year is no different. In the contenders for both the History and Research Books of the Year we see an exceptional range of works covering a diverse and fascinating range of topics. We are delighted to support the ambition and celebrate the expertise evident in these publications.

Winners of the Awards will be announced at a ceremony in the Mitchell Library, Glasgow on the 14th November from 4.30pm.  The Saltire Scottish Book of the Year and First Book of the Year will be announced at the ceremony.
