Sheena Sharp (nee Gibbon) was born on the 13 April 1953 at Torphins, Aberdeenshire. She works as an office manager. Her local shooting clubs are the Huntly Rifle Club and the Bon Accord Rifle Club. Sharp started first shooting at the age of 11 before stopping at 16. Picking up the sport again over 20 years later, she progressed quickly and soon earned selection first with the Scottish and then the Great Britain team. Her coach is Donald McIntosh.
Attending her first Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002, representing Scotland, she won silver (missing the gold by one point) in the 50 m rifle prone pairs partnering with Susan Jackson. At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Sharp and Jackson went one better and won gold in the same event and lead the way by five clear points. Sharp also won a second gold in the 50 m rifle prone singles event.
Sheena holds the Scottish record with personal best score of 594 out of 600 in the 50m Rifle Prone events.
