Sarah-Jane Summers

Fiddle Player, Composer & Educator

Sarah- Jane Summers is a fiddle player, composer, and educator who combines her long-time family tradition of music of the Highlands with a love for Nordic music. She is a founding member of the band Fribo, the trio Mala Fama, and the quartet RANT, and often appears as a soloist and in a duo with guitarist Juhani Silvola. Her recordings have taken the music of the Highlands over the world, as has her teaching: Sarah-Jane has taught workshops in places as diverse as New Zealand and North Carolina, and she was director of the RSAMD Junior Academy Traditional Music course in Glasgow before relocating to Norway to undertake post graduate study in Nordic fiddle.

Through all the ways she shares her music, Sarah-Jane Summers brings the heart of Scotland to the world.
