Singer, harpist and composer Rachel Newton is one of Scotland's busiest folk musicians.

A founder member of The Shee, the BBC2 Folk Award winning Emily Portman Trio and the Furrow Collective, Rachel also writes and performs her own solo material, releasing her debut album 'The Shadow Side' in 2012. The album was nominated in the Scots Trad Music Awards 2012 and received much critical acclaim. As well as being in demand as a musician in the folk scene having performed with Karine Polwart, Blue Rose Code, Macmaster/Hay and others, she has also worked in theatre and film, winning an award with the Rowantree Theatre Company for Best Use of Music at the CATS 2009 and singing on Raindance Award winning film 'The Inheritance'.

Rachel’s new solo album, Changeling, is due for release on 1st September 2014 on her own label Shadowside Records.
