Caro Ramsay
Crime Writer
Caro Ramsay is a Scottish crime writer known for her series of thrillers starring her detective duo Anderson and Costello. Caro comes from Govan Glasgow and was one of the youngest students ever to qualify from the British School of Osteopathy in London. She still juggles her writing career with her therapeutic work as an Osteopath and Acupuncturist. She has a keen interest in the treatment of animals with complimentary therapy especially the animals at a local wildlife rescue centre where she was often found wrestling seals and gannets.
She had no interest in writing at all until she ended up in hospital for a very long time and while there wrote what became her first two novels. She was immediately signed by agent Jane Gregory and the novels where immediately bought by Michael Joseph at Penguin. Her first novel was shortlisted for the new blood dagger. Her second longlisted for the theakstons crime novel of the year. To aid her crime writing she studied for and obtained a diploma in forensic medical science.
She edited the Million for a Morgue cookbook which helped raise funds for the Million for a Morgue campaign for Dundee University. In recognition for her efforts embaming tank number 3 is named the ‘Caro Ramsay’.
