Annabel Logan

Actress, Musician and Writer

Annabel Logan is a Scottish theatre and film actress, musician and writer originally from Inverness. She is perhaps best known as 'Eve' in BAFTA nominated Scottish film 'A Practical Guide to a Spectacular Suicide' also nominated for the Michael Powell Best British Feature Film at this year’s Edinburgh Film Festival.

Daughter of legendary entertainer Jimmy Logan, Annabel grew up surrounded by the theatre and music and it was no surprise that she took a shine to performing herself. Only recently did she open up about her slightly less than normal childhood and the inspiration her father had on her to pursue her career. She also wanted to open up and give courage to others in similar situations.

Annabel began her acting career at the University of St Andrews where she won the McEuan Rose Bowl for contributions to acting, choreographing and directing. She then went to East 15 Acting School where she trained professionally.

Over the last 5 years, Annabel has worked tirelessly in grassroots theatre and film including setting up her own theatre company 'Burnt Out Bulbs' where she is able to combine her love of theatre and heavy guitar solos in shows such as 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' where she played 'Yitzhak' and Sam Shepard's 'Cowboy Mouth' as 'Cavale'.

In 2012 she received critical acclaim for her portrayal as 'Rose' in Theatre Alba's 'Dancing at Lughnasa' with Plays International citing it as 'the best character acting I have seen at this year's Fringe'.

A year later (2013) she was also praised for her performance in new writing piece 'Solstice', with Broadway Baby stating, 'Logan excelled as Gemma. Her brokenness was pitched perfectly to give credence to her erratic behaviour, without overstepping the mark.'

Annabel writes and performs her music under the name DeWilde . She also performs with 'The Beggars Cavale' on vocals , keys and accordion.

In 2014 she will be taking on the role of Mary Queen of Scots in a revival of Robert McLellan's 'Mary Stuart'.
