The project repaired a key corner within the historic core of the former mining village of Dailly. The site is at the  picturesque entrance to the village over the Water of Girvan.

It had been derelict for many years following the demolition of the unsafe shell of the burnt-out King's  Arms Hotel.

The project required the dwellings to be highly energy efficient particularly given the lack of mains gas in the villageand for the project to be delivered efficiently within the design and budget of social housing.
