Linkwood View comprises of 30 specialised care flats within a sheltered courtyard environment, encouraging independent living while providing care for a mix of elderly residents at varying stages of dementia. It has been shortlisted for both the Multiple Housing Design Award and the Innovation in Housing Award.
Linkwood View’s objective is to create a template facility that can be used across Scotland which will provide future care to a growing elderly demographic with dementia.
Hanover Housing Association, Moray Council and Springfield Properties worked in partnership and following the success of Linkwood View, Springfield, Hanover Housing Association and East Ayrshire Council are in discussions about replicating a similar facility in Kilmarnock.
